Fans of All Creatures Great and Small have plenty to smile about, as two more seasons of the much-loved Yorkshire-based drama have been confirmed.
Both Season 7 and 8 are officially in the works, with each bringing six new episodes and their own Christmas Specials.
Inspired by James Herriot’s treasured books, the series airs on Channel 5 in the UK and MASTERPIECE PBS in the US.
Since its debut, All Creatures Great and Small has been Channel 5’s top-performing drama, reaching more than 14 million viewers across five seasons.
The fifth season, which aired in autumn 2024, attracted 6.2 million viewers, giving Channel 5 its highest ratings that season and setting new records for 5 Streaming.
Season 6 took viewers back to the end of World War II, reuniting the Skeldale family and welcoming us once again to the picturesque Yorkshire Dales.
US fans can look forward to Season 6 premiering on MASTERPIECE PBS from January 11, 2026.
Details about the next two seasons are under wraps for now, but fans can still catch up as all six seasons are available to stream on Channel 5, with a 2025 Christmas Special on the way.
Channel 5’s Commissioning Editor Greg Barnett called the show “a jewel in 5’s drama crown” and promised “many new stories still to tell and more unforgettable adventures ahead for our Skeldale family.”
Melissa Gallant and Sharon Moran, joint Executive Producers for Playground commented: “We frequently receive letters from viewers about how the show has brought joy, comfort and relief in challenging times. Making television that has that effect and is beloved around the world year after year is the greatest privilege, and we’re thrilled to be continuing the All Creatures journey with 5, Masterpiece on PBS and All3Media International into series 7 and 8.”
Susanne Simpson, Executive Producer for MASTERPIECE added: “All Creatures Great and Small has found its way into the hearts of American audiences and is one of our most watched series on MASTERPIECE. I’m thrilled to bring more seasons of the warmth, hope and humor that make this series so special to MASTERPIECE PBS.”
