Kerry Godliman and Nina Singh are stepping into the shoes of Dalziel and Pascoe in a brand new version of the classic detective series.
The new TV series will air on ITV in the UK and BritBox internationally.
This latest take on Reginald Hill’s beloved novels introduces us to Detective Inspector Andrea Dalziel – played by Kerry, known for her roles in Trigger Point, Spinal Tap: The End Continues and After Life – and Detective Sergeant Paige Pascoe, portrayed by Nina, whose credits include Art Detectives and Virdee.
The new Dalziel and Pascoe promises a modern edge, pairing the world-weary but sharp Andrea Dalziel with the ambitious and by-the-book Paige Pascoe.
Kerry shared her excitement, saying she’s “so chuffed to be playing the assertively charming Detective Inspector Andrea Dalziel,” describing her as “accomplished at her job, warm, but also direct to the point of being abrasive. Weary and warm hearted.”
Nina added, “It’s an absolute honour to be playing Pascoe to Kerry Godliman’s Dalziel. I find Kerry hilarious, so I know at times I’ll struggle not to be laughing.”
The original Dalziel and Pascoe show, starring Warren Clarke and Colin Buchanan, ran for twelve seasons from 1996 to 2007 and built a loyal following.
Colette Kane and Daisy Martey are at the helm as co-creators for television, backed by a writers’ room including Chris Ryden, Jon Rowe and Danusia Samal.
The six-part series will film in Northern England from spring 2026. Isher Sahota will direct, with Juliet Charlesworth producing. West Road Pictures, the team behind Ridley and Blood.
