Daisy May and Charlie Cooper are swapping village life for the supernatural in their brand-new series NightWatch.
The siblings, best known for their BAFTA-winning comedy This Country, will reunite for six half-hour episodes that take them deep into some of the UK’s most haunted locations.
From centuries-old castles and abandoned prisons to eerie cinemas, bat-infested ruins and remote Scottish bothies, the pair will be locked in overnight, with just each other (and maybe a few ghosts) for company.
Each episode begins with a guided tour of the location’s spooky history, before Daisy and Charlie are left alone until dawn to face whatever paranormal surprises may come their way.
Armed with Daisy’s “spooky briefcase” of ghost-hunting gadgets, they’ll attempt to uncover secrets from beyond the grave while also reflecting on their lives, careers, and sibling rivalry.
With the clock ticking from midnight to sunrise, the question is whether they’ll last the night and still be speaking to each other by morning.
The series kicks off close to home at HM Prison Gloucester, before taking the duo across the country to explore haunted pubs, castles and ruins.
Daisy May and Charlie said: “We’ve both had a brush with the paranormal, and really do love the concept of life after death, so we thought this could be the perfect way to prove to the world that we’re not delusional. It will be a miracle if we both come out alive and well.”
NightWatch will air on BBC Two and iPlayer in the UK.
