Award-winning British drama Rivals is about to make another big splash on Disney+.

The streamer has revealed that the highly anticipated second season hits screens on May 15 with a three-episode premiere.

Global viewers can expect the series to arrive in two batches of six episodes each, with UK fans on Disney+ catching the second half later this year.

Based on the beloved novel by the late Dame Jilly Cooper, Rivals immerses us once again in the dazzling, cutthroat world of 1980s polo, where the stakes have never been higher.

Rival TV networks Corinium and Venturer are about to clash in a fierce battle for the Central South West television franchise, with Lord Tony Baddingham – played by the ever-charismatic David Tennant – pulling every string he can to come out on top.

Watch the trailer for season two below…

This season, Tony is more ruthless than ever, manipulating those around him and using scandal as a weapon to dismantle his competitors one move at a time.

The show continues to showcase the iconic glamour and extravagant lifestyles that defined the decade, but all that surface glitz masks plenty of turmoil.

Relationships fray, secrets come to light and ambition threatens to destroy families in what promises to be another gripping round of boardroom warfare and romantic chaos.

Our core cast returns for another outing, including Alex Hassell as Rupert Campbell-Black, Aidan Turner as Declan O’Hara and Bella Maclean as Taggie O’Hara, with Katherine Parkinson, Danny Dyer and Victoria Smurfit also reprising their roles.

Season two introduces even more twists with new guest stars: Hayley Atwell joins as Helen Gordon, while Rupert Everett appears as Malise Gordon.

The stellar ensemble expands further with faces like Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle and Oliver Dench joining the Rutshire universe.

Subscribers can catch up on all of season one now on Disney+.
