Sophie Rundle is back as detective Jo Marshall as ITV and BritBox give us our first glimpse of the second season of After the Flood.

Filmed across the North West of England, this six-part mystery drama is set to arrive on ITV and STV, with streaming on ITVX, STV Player in the UK, and BritBox in North America in 2026.

We can expect familiar faces alongside newcomers this season.

Lorraine Ashbourne returns as Molly Marshall, Nicholas Gleaves as Sergeant Phil Mackie, Philip Glenister as Jack Radcliffe and Matt Stokoe as Jo’s husband, Pat Holman.

There’s a host of new cast members joining the story, including Alun Armstrong as Alan Benson, Jill Halfpenny as DS Sam Bradley, and Anil Desai as DCI Balsara.

The lineup also includes Matthew McNulty, Steph De Whalley, Nathalie Armin, and a promising debut by Lola Brown as Izza.

Created and written by BAFTA-nominated Mick Ford, After the Flood continues to dig into the murky secrets beneath the surface of Waterside.

This season, newly promoted detective Jo Marshall is handed a strange new murder case.

As moorland fires and flooding spark panic, a body turns up under mysterious circumstances, drawing Jo into a personal investigation that pits her against both powerful interests and her own family history.
