When her reclusive husband William is mistakenly declared dead, the pair decide to lean into the mix-up rather than correct it, hiding in the loft while waiting for a life-insurance payout that they believe will finally give them a peaceful retirement.

Their scheme quickly spirals, especially for their son Harry, who suddenly finds himself navigating the surprise return of a father he has just mourned, the stress of a major insurance payout and the pressure of keeping everything quiet.

That’s made even tougher by the fact that Harry’s practical and sharp-eyed wife Neha is a police officer, meaning the smallest slip could unravel the entire plan. What follows is a tangle of secrets, close calls and family clashes as the Fendons try to maintain their cover.
