Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing returns on Sunday 26th October at 9pm on BBC Two and iPlayer, and the first trailer is here to prove the wait was worth it.

The 20-second teaser gives fans a quick look at what to expect – including the return of Ted the dog, who hilariously narrates the clip in a voice that sounds a lot like Paul.

“Two muppets talking absolute carp again,” Ted says, summing it all up perfectly.

But this new series isn’t just more of the same.

Paul and Bob have taken a more personal route this time, picking fishing spots that hold real meaning to them.

Whether it’s a river they visited in their youth or a lake tied to a memory, each location reflects a piece of their lives.

Paul said: “The thrust of this series is that we go to places that we’ve either fished before or resonate with us from our past or mean a lot, and, and so I think there’s maybe an extra level of poignancy to this series, it’s a little bit more heartfelt.”

Bob added: “We wanted to be free to pick the places we’ve always wanted to go and places which, sort of, personally meant something to us. So, it’s just a slightly different approach, you know, rather than just focusing on species of fish.”

Make sure to set your reminders for 26th October, Sunday night TV doesn’t get better than this.
