The hit UK police drama Hope Street is back for its fifth season and it’s more explosive than ever.
Returning this autumn on BBC iPlayer and BritBox, the new season opens with a dramatic half-marathon interrupted by a car explosion, setting the tone for what’s to come in the picturesque yet crime-filled coastal town of Port Devine.
Celebrating its 50th episode milestone, Hope Street continues to blend gripping weekly crime cases with character-driven drama.
Season 5 introduces two new faces to shake things up: former Ulster rugby player turned cop Donal Gallagher (played by Krypton star Cameron Cuffe) and no-nonsense local GP Sasha Cookson (Jenn Murray, The Lovers). Their on-screen chemistry adds fresh spark to an already strong ensemble.
This season promises plenty of twists: Inspector Eve Dunlop suspects her marriage may be in trouble, Brandi returns from prison to a frosty welcome, Clint tries to cover up growing financial issues, and Lois receives devastating news.
And in true Hope Street fashion, there’s no shortage of complex crimes, from money scams and stolen cars to a shocking community-shaking shooting and an unexpected death.
In the UK, Season 5 premieres 27 October on BBC iPlayer and BBC One Northern Ireland, and begins airing on BBC Daytime from 31 October.
Those in the US can watch on BritBox with the season five release date to be announced.
Previous seasons are streaming now on BritBox and BBC iPlayer.
