Channel 5 has revealed the cast for Missed Call (w/t), an upcoming five-part thriller on Channel 5.

Leading the drama is BAFTA-winning actress Joanna Scanlan (Slow Horses, A Very Royal Scandal), joined by Claire Keim (Vise le Coeur), Rupert Graves (Sherlock), François-Xavier Demaison (Disparue), and fellow BAFTA winner Robert Lindsay (Sherwood).

Set in a picturesque French village, the series follows Sarah, a single mother whose life is thrown into turmoil after she receives a missed call from her teenage daughter Katie while on a school exchange.

When Sarah arrives in France, she discovers both the host family and local authorities disturbingly indifferent to Katie’s disappearance.

Refusing to accept their complacency, Sarah’s determination to uncover the truth sparks a tense and emotional race against time.

Joanna Scanlan commented: “The script for Missed Call gripped me from the first page, it’s a powerful story about every mother’s worst fear, set in a place that’s stunningly beautiful but weirdly unsettling.

“Sarah is a complex, vibrant and determined woman, and I’m hugely excited to bring her to life in this tense and emotional thriller. It’s a real pleasure to be working with Channel 5 on such a bold and compelling piece of drama”.

Written by Matthew Thomas with contributions from Sally Abbott (Vera) and Paul Matthew Thompson (Shakespeare and Hathaway), and directed by Sheree Folkson (Bridgerton), Missed Call continues Channel 5’s growing drama slate following the success of The Au Pair.
