Midsomer Murders isn’t going anywhere — ITV has officially renewed the long-running British detective drama for Season 26.

With four new feature-length episodes on the way, it brings the total episode count to a massive 148, making DCI Barnaby one of the most hard-working detectives on TV.

Neil Dudgeon returns as the always calm but sharp Barnaby, alongside Nick Hendrix as DS Winter.

Fan favorites Annette Badland (Dr. Perkins) and Fiona Dolman (Barnaby’s wife Sarah) are also back.

The new season will once again take us to the peaceful yet surprisingly deadly villages of Midsomer County.

Since first airing in 1997, Midsomer Murders has become a global favorite. It’s consistently one of the most watched detective shows in Europe and is available in nearly 200 territories.

ITV’s Drama Commissioner Huw Kennair Jones said: “We’re thrilled to be returning to Midsomer with Barnaby and Winter. Series 26 promises to deliver four brilliant brand new cases for the legion of Midsomer Murders fans to enjoy.”

Executive producer Michele Buck added: “We are so pleased to be able to bring viewers more tales from the fascinating world of Midsomer Murders with this series 26 commission.”

Whether you’re a long-time fan or just discovering it, there’s never been a better time to catch up on Midsomer Murders, and with more episodes on the way, it doesn’t look like Barnaby is retiring anytime soon.
