There’s a new British comedy heading to our screens, and it brings together some familiar faces and a celebrated writer.
Disney+ and Hulu have officially announced Mosquito, a six-episode original series set to premiere internationally on Disney+ and in the US on Hulu.
The show is penned by Tony McNamara, the two-time Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning writer best known for Poor Things and The Great.
Mosquito stars Nicholas Hoult, recently seen in Superman and Nosferatu, alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones, recognized from her roles in Normal People and Twisters.
The duo play Kate and Ed, a newly married couple whose carefully constructed personas start to unravel thanks to the quiet chaos of everyday life – and it all begins with one persistent mosquito.
The series promises a sharp, sardonic look at modern relationships, leaning into McNamara’s signature style. As Tony himself put it, he’s “thrilled and excited to work with and team up two of the best actors around. I can’t wait to go make absurd comedy with them.”
There’s extra buzz around the project as it reunites Tony with Nicholas, who previously worked together on The Great – a Hulu original that picked up a stack of award nominations.
Production begins in 2026.
