Hit crime drama Annika has been cancelled after just two seasons.
The show, which starred Nicola Walker as a sharp and quick-witted detective, first aired on U&Alibi in the UK in 2021 before rerunning on BBC One.
In the US, the show aired on PBS Masterpiece.
Adapted from the BBC Radio 4 drama Annika Stranded, which also featured Walker in the lead role, the TV series followed the titular detective as she solved complex cases while juggling personal challenges.
The ensemble cast included Katie Leung, Jamie Sives, Ukweli Roach, Kate Dickie, and Varada Sethu, with Paul McGann playing Annika’s love interest, Jake Strathearn.
In a statement to Radio Times, a spokesperson confirmed there would be no third outing.
They stated: “We are incredibly proud of the success of Annika on U&Alibi, but there are no current plans for a third series.”
Episodes are streaming now on BBC iPlayer and UKTV Play and PBS.
