Sally Phillips is set to lead The Hairdresser Mysteries, a brand-new BBC drama written by acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Jim Cartwright.
The six-part series follows Lily Petal, a glamorous big-city hairdresser who decides to leave behind the competitive salon scene and buy a small shop in a cobbled village.
But Lily quickly discovers that everyone confides in their hairdresser, and with her uncanny intuition and natural empathy, she soon finds herself at the centre of village life – solving secrets and mysteries that unfold in the community around her.
Filming begins this September across the West Midlands, with the show produced by Mill Bay Media (a 53 Degrees Global company) in association with Night Train Media.
The series is set to air on BBC iPlayer and BBC Daytime, introducing a new detective with a blow-dryer and a sharp eye for detail.
