Get ready for another twisty British drama – ITV has dropped the first-look images for Betrayal, a new four-part thriller set to premiere in 2026.
Betrayal stars Shaun Evans, best known from Endeavour and Vigil, alongside Romola Garai from The Hour and The Years.
Both bring heavyweight drama chops to a tense world of spies, secrets, and trust issues.

Created by acclaimed writer David Eldridge and directed by Julian Jarrold, whose credits include This England and A Very Royal Scandal, Betrayal plants its story firmly inside MI5.
Shaun takes the lead as John Hughes, a mid-career MI5 officer facing a fast-changing world while struggling to keep his marriage afloat.
When John gets a tip about an imminent threat tied to Stockport’s underworld, he leaps in – but things go off the rails quickly.

Soon, he’s caught up in an internal investigation, triggering further scrutiny from his bosses, including Simone Grant played by Nikki Amuka-Bird.
Meanwhile, Romola plays John’s partner Claire, who is pulled into the shadowy challenges of balancing life with someone whose every move is a secret.
The cast is stacked with talent, including Zahra Ahmadi as Mehreen – an operative who finds herself working closely with John – as well as Gamba Cole, Omid Djalili, Matthew Tennyson, and more.
Stay tuned for more intel as Betrayal gears up for its 2026 debut on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.
