The trailer for Shetland season 10 is here, and it promises one of the darkest mysteries yet.
Returning to BBC One and iPlayer in the UK on Wednesday 5 November at 9pm, the new season sees DI Ruth Calder (Ashley Jensen) and DI Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh (Alison O’Donnell) drawn into the eerie, close-knit village of Lunniswick.
When the body of retired social worker Eadie Tulloch is found left out in the elements for days, it sets off a tense investigation full of hidden tensions and buried secrets.
As Calder and Tosh question the villagers, they begin to suspect the locals are holding something back.

The deeper they dig, the more tangled the truth becomes—especially when a personal connection to the case threatens to divide the investigation team.
Long-time fan favourites Steven Robertson, Lewis Howden, Anne Kidd, and others return, alongside new cast member Samuel Anderson as Procurator Fiscal Matt Blake.
The guest cast for the new episodes includes Clive Russell, Ellie Haddington, Louise Brealey, Greg McHugh and Stuart Townsend.
